Counting rules
Characters use Unicode graphemes, so a combined letter or emoji sequence usually counts as one. Whitespace includes spaces, tabs and line breaks. Intl.Segmenter uses the current language for words and sentences; a counted sentence must contain a word. Segmentation can vary by browser version. Unique words merge case and canonically equivalent text. Blank lines separate paragraphs; a single line break only adds a line. Empty input has zero lines; a trailing line break adds a line.
Reading time assumes 200 words per minute; speaking time assumes 130. Both are rounded up to whole seconds. These are rough estimates and may not reflect every language. Lexical diversity is the number of unique words divided by the total word count.
