Record microphone audio offline
Use the Audio Recorder to capture a quick voice note, microphone test, narration draft, or sound sample without leaving the browser. The tool requests microphone access only when you start a recording, then lets you pause, resume, stop, preview, and download the result.
Practical uses
It is useful for checking whether a microphone works, collecting a spoken reminder, recording a temporary pronunciation sample, or creating a short clip to attach to another workflow. Because the recorder runs client-side, it is also a convenient option when you do not want to install a desktop audio app for a simple take.
Privacy and browser formats
Recording happens through the browser's MediaRecorder API. Audio remains local to the page while you record and preview it; ToolTab does not upload the microphone stream. The final file type depends on browser support, so one browser may download WebM or OGG while another produces M4A.
Tips for clean recordings
Use a quiet environment, keep the microphone input level reasonable, and make a short test take before recording something important. If the page cannot start recording, check that the site is open over HTTPS or localhost and that microphone permission is allowed for the current browser tab.
